Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Dallas, TX)

Stonegate Willow Auto Group operates automotive service and parts businesses around Dallas. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. Customers come back because we explain what they need and what they do not. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to vehicle inspections, and clear open items. • Track costs around warranty claims against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with vehicle inspections. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Dallas. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
