Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Dallas, TX)

We are growing our team at Harborlight Sparrow Environmental Services and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be grant and fund accounting. You would join a small organisation of about 21 people based in Dallas. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to recycling loads, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with recycling loads. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
