Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Dallas, TX)

Fernwood Ember Markets Group operates grocery and general-merchandise stores around Dallas, and we need an Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. You would join a small organisation of about 68 people based in Dallas. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to shrink and waste, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Dallas, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
