Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Dallas, TX)

We are growing our team at Northwind Forge Telecom and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be grant and fund accounting. We keep people connected and take outages personally. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to service installations, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with service installations. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Dallas. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
