Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Dallas, TX)

Harborlight Meridian Inspection Services Group provides independent inspection and testing for industry across Dallas, and we need an Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. Independence and accuracy are our product. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to equipment calibration, and clear open items. • Track costs around client sites against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with equipment calibration. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Dallas. • We reply to every applicant.
