Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Columbus, OH)

Greenridge Harbor Freight Partners moves freight for manufacturers and retailers out of Columbus, and we need an Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. On-time is the promise and we work hard to keep it. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around claims against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with loads and lanes. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Columbus. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
