Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Columbus, OH)

Foxglove Ashton Hospitality is a hospitality company in Columbus with restaurants, rooms and catering, and we need an Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. We work weekends and holidays and we make it fun. What you will do • Track costs around housekeeping schedules against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to group events, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with group events. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Columbus. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
