Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Columbus, OH)

Foxglove Haven Housing provides affordable homes and support services around Columbus, and we need an Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. You would join a small organisation of about 20 people based in Columbus. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around resident services against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Columbus, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
