Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Columbus, OH)

Bluepeak Corner Medical Associates is a Columbus company producing monitoring and surgical equipment. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around complaint handling against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to regulatory submissions, and clear open items. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with regulatory submissions. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Columbus. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
