Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Colorado Springs, CO)

Northwind Bridge Banking Services is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for account openings, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Most people here started in a branch and stayed. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around fraud alerts against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to account openings, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with account openings.
