Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Colorado Springs, CO)

Ironwood Granite Pharma is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for batch records, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Colorado Springs. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to batch records, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around release testing against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with batch records. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Colorado Springs. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
