Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Colorado Springs, CO)

Redstone North Construction is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for materials orders, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to materials orders, and clear open items. • Track costs around subcontractor invoices against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with materials orders. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Colorado Springs. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
