Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Cincinnati, OH)

Bright Maple Markets serves neighbourhoods around Cincinnati with fresh food and everyday goods, and we need an Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to shrink and waste, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with shrink and waste. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Cincinnati, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
