Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Chicago, IL)

We are growing our team at Greenridge Logistics and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be grant and fund accounting. Technicians are respected and trained. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer estimates, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with customer estimates. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Chicago. • We reply to every applicant.
