Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Charlotte, NC)

Ironwood Rook Financial is a financial-services company in Charlotte. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to loan applications, and clear open items. • Track costs around payment disputes against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with loan applications. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Charlotte. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
