Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Charlotte, NC)

We are growing our team at Ironwood Birch Care Services Group and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be grant and fund accounting. We train and promote from within. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around visit scheduling against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with care plans. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Charlotte, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
