Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Charleston, SC)

Foxglove Nest Financial Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for payment disputes, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Career paths are clear. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around regulatory reports against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with payment disputes. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Charleston, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
