Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Charleston, SC)

Silverline Linden Hospitality runs guest-focused properties across the Charleston area, and we need an Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. You would join a large organisation of about 837 people based in Charleston. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to food costs, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with food costs. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Charleston. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
