Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Buffalo, NY)

Foxglove Yarrow Hospitality Group operates hotels and event venues around Buffalo, and we need an Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. Guests remember kindness. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to reviews and feedback, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Buffalo, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
