Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Buffalo, NY)

Harborlight Cobalt Early Learning is an early-learning provider in Buffalo, and we need an Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. You would join a small organisation of about 73 people based in Buffalo. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to family communication, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with family communication. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Buffalo. • We reply to every applicant.
