Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Boston, MA)

We are growing our team at Greenridge Lakeside Care Services and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be grant and fund accounting. You would join a small organisation of about 85 people based in Boston. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to family communication, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with family communication. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Boston. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
