Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Birmingham, AL)

Bluepeak Basin Care Services is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for licensing, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. We train and promote from within. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around family communication against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to licensing, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with licensing. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Birmingham, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
