Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Baltimore, MD)

Rivermark West Inspection Services is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for client sites, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to client sites, and clear open items. • Track costs around equipment calibration against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with client sites. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Baltimore. • We reply to every applicant.
