Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Baltimore, MD)

Silverline Willow Insurance Group provides coverage to households and businesses around Baltimore, and we need an Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to underwriting files, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with underwriting files. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Baltimore. • We reply to every applicant.
