Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Baltimore, MD)

Ironwood Vale Medical builds devices used by hospitals and clinics, with its team based in Baltimore, and we need an Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. Documentation is part of the craft. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around production lots against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with device records. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Baltimore. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
