Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Baltimore, MD)

Greenridge Analytics is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for grower contracts, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of about 524 people based in Baltimore. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to grower contracts, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with grower contracts. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
