Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Baltimore, MD)

Stonegate Orchard Transit Planning plans bus and rail service for cities around Baltimore. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. Work is collaborative and map-heavy. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around fare systems against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to route schedules, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Baltimore. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
