Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Austin, TX)

Rivermark Wren Telecom Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for network equipment, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around service installations against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with network equipment. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Austin. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
