Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Atlanta, GA)

Northwind Pine Manufacturing makes precision components in Atlanta. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. We value people who work safely and speak up. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around machine downtime against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with work orders. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Atlanta, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
