Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Atlanta, GA)

Foxglove Thistle Early Learning is an early-learning provider in Atlanta, and we need an Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. You would join a large organisation of about 910 people based in Atlanta. What you will do • Track costs around meal programmes against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with classroom supplies. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Atlanta. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
