Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Atlanta, GA)

Nova North Markets serves neighbourhoods around Atlanta with fresh food and everyday goods, and we need an Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. We like people who know our customers by name. What you will do • Track costs around store inventory against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with promotions. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Atlanta. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
