Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Anchorage, AK)

Westbrook Glen Legal Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for billing records, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 87 people based in Anchorage. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to billing records, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Anchorage, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
