Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Anchorage, AK)

Harborlight Drift Legal Group provides legal services in Anchorage across employment, housing and small-business law. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. People here care about clients, not just cases. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around billing records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to court deadlines, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Anchorage. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
