Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Anchorage, AK)

We are growing our team at Bright Harbor Telecom and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be grant and fund accounting. We keep people connected and take outages personally. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around service installations against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to outage reports, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Anchorage, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
