Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Albuquerque, NM)

Westbrook Willow Pharma develops and makes medicines in Albuquerque. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. You would join a small organisation of about 45 people based in Albuquerque. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around release testing against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to quality documentation, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with quality documentation. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Albuquerque. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
