Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Albuquerque, NM)

Stonegate Umber Banking Services is a regional lender in Albuquerque with branches and a growing mobile service. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. You would join a large organisation of about 287 people based in Albuquerque. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to card disputes, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around loan files against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Albuquerque, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
