Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Albuquerque, NM)

We are growing our team at Bluepeak Field Markets and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be grant and fund accounting. We are friendly and busy, especially on weekends. What you will do • Track costs around pricing against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to shrink and waste, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with shrink and waste. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Albuquerque. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
