Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Albuquerque, NM)

Amberfield Birch Freight Group moves freight for manufacturers and retailers out of Albuquerque. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. Dispatch, drivers and warehouse staff talk to each other constantly. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to dock schedules, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with dock schedules. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Albuquerque. • We reply to every applicant.
