Accountant - fixed assets (Wichita, KS)

Cedar Sparrow Foods produces packaged foods at its Wichita plant. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. You would join a small organisation of about 16 people based in Wichita. What you will do • Track costs around cold storage against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with customer specifications. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
