Accountant - fixed assets (Wichita, KS)

Bright Forge Telecom provides broadband and phone service around Wichita, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. You would join a small organisation of about 162 people based in Wichita. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to outage reports, and clear open items. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with outage reports. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
