Accountant - fixed assets (Wichita, KS)

We are growing our team at Highbridge Vale Manufacturing and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be fixed assets. Many of our supervisors started on the floor. What you will do • Track costs around customer orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with scrap and rework. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Wichita. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
