Accountant - fixed assets (Wichita, KS)

Stonegate Fern Facilities is a facilities company in Wichita with crews on day and night shifts. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Track costs around customer sites against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to safety inspections, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Wichita. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
