Accountant - fixed assets (Wichita, KS)

Fernwood Basin Facilities Group looks after properties across the Wichita region, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around cleaning schedules against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to contractor visits, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with contractor visits. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Wichita, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
