Accountant - fixed assets (Virginia Beach, VA)

Redstone Quill Facilities Group looks after properties across the Virginia Beach region, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. Clear communication between supervisors and crews matters. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around safety inspections against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
