Accountant - fixed assets (Toledo, OH)

Nova Maple Water Authority Group supplies drinking water and treats wastewater for Toledo and nearby communities. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to billing accounts, and clear open items. • Track costs around pipe repairs against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with billing accounts. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Toledo. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
