Accountant - fixed assets (Toledo, OH)

Nova West Farms is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on fixed assets for harvest schedules, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 76 people based in Toledo. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to harvest schedules, and clear open items. • Track costs around cold storage against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with harvest schedules. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Toledo. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
