Accountant - fixed assets (Toledo, OH)

Westbrook Meadow Water Authority is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on fixed assets for billing accounts, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Crews and office staff work closely together. What you will do • Track costs around pipe repairs against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to billing accounts, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Toledo. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
