Accountant - fixed assets (Tampa, FL)

Northwind Meridian Foods Associates makes sauces, snacks and prepared meals in Tampa. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. Food safety is non-negotiable and we train for it. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer specifications, and clear open items. • Track costs around ingredient orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Tampa. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
