Accountant - fixed assets (Tampa, FL)

We are growing our team at Bluepeak Haven Learning Group and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be fixed assets. We follow the school calendar and we like people who like learning. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to student accounts, and clear open items. • Track costs around family communication against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Tampa. • We reply to every applicant.
