Accountant - fixed assets (St. Louis, MO)

Westbrook Pike Water Authority is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on fixed assets for capital projects, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. What you will do • Track costs around pipe repairs against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to capital projects, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with capital projects.
